ECT* is one of the research centres of Fondazione Brunno Kessler (FBK).

It is located in Villazzano, a small village in the suburb of Trento, the capital of the Autonomous Region of Trentino and Alto Adige and the Autonomous Province of Trentino.

The site is known to locals as “Villa Tambosi”, which is the name of the late XVIII century villa where ECT* is based.

Fondazione Bruno Kessler is the result of more than half a century of history, through 11 centres dedicated to technology and innovation and to the humanities and social sciences, FBK aims to achieve excellent results in the scientific and technological field with particular regard to interdisciplinary approaches and the application dimension.

The Trento Institute for Fundamental Physics and Applications (TIFPA) is a Science and Technology National Center for research in fundamental physics and state-of-the-art development of related technologies. It is embedded in the fertile substrate offered by the Trento Province research and technology context, and capitalizes on the collaborations already established across the past 20 years with UNITN and FBK.
